Google Limits Usage of Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro Amidst Rising Server Strain

Google has quietly reduced access limits for its Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro image generation tools, placing free-tier users at a disadvantage. The daily limit for Gemini 3 Pro has shifted from five prompts to uncertain “basic access,” which may change anytime based on server demand. Additionally, free users of Nano Banana Pro can now create only two images daily, down from three. These adjustments stem from high traffic exceeding Google’s expectations, causing strain on servers. While casual users may not find these limits problematic, heavy users who rely on the platform for content creation and research are likely to feel the impact. Google is nudging these users towards its $20/month AI Pro Plan for consistent performance. The absence of a clear prompt indicator adds to user frustration, as they may inadvertently switch to a less efficient model once reaching their cap without warning.
