Google has revamped the names of its Gemini-powered Assistant voices for Nest devices, following the introduction of new voices in June. Six out of ten voice names in the Public Preview program received updates, maintaining a botanical theme with more familiar names. For instance, “Ivy” is now “Violet,” while “Verbena” has transformed into “Magnolia.” Users will find that most voice descriptions stayed the same, although “Fern” now has a “Warm” tone instead of “Bright.” The voice sounds largely unchanged, allowing users to compare old and new versions. Google hints at upcoming improvements to the Assistant’s reliability with the Gemini rollout this fall, signaling a potential shift from the “Google Assistant” branding. Additionally, Google introduced Deep Think, a tool within its Gemini app, benefiting mathematicians by enhancing problem-solving capabilities. This update reflects user feedback and recent advancements, marking a significant development in Google’s AI offerings.
