Google has partnered with Reliance Industries’ AI arm, Reliance Intelligence, to provide selected Jio users free access to the Google AI Pro plan for 18 months. This initiative aims to enhance AI technology adoption among India’s youth. The plan features Google’s advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model, image generation capabilities with Nano Banana and Veo 3.1, and 2TB of storage, valued at ₹35,100. This rollout targets users aged 18-25 on unlimited 5G plans, with plans for nationwide expansion. In a competitive landscape, OpenAI is also launching its ChatGPT Go, offering a promotional free year to Indian users starting November 4. Mukesh Ambani emphasizes making AI accessible for 1.45 billion Indians, while Sundar Pichai highlights the partnership’s potential to distribute advanced AI tools across businesses and developers in India. Additionally, Reliance will develop proprietary AI solutions within Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise to foster innovation in the Indian AI ecosystem.
