Google is evolving its Gemini overlay, recently introduced with a “bouncy” design for Android. This overhaul aims to enhance user experience with the new AI assistant, set to replace Google Assistant by year-end. The latest version, found in the Google app’s build 16.41.34, showcases a promising but subtle redesign, featuring updated surrounding color schemes. While maintaining the bouncy entrance of the prompt box, the updated animation extends Gemini’s blue/purple hue across a larger screen area, moving away from the traditional Google Assistant colors. This shift aligns with Gemini’s objective to establish its own identity separate from the Assistant. Although early glimpses of this UI have surfaced in code, Google has yet to confirm these changes. The rollout status remains uncertain, but users can expect continued evolution in the Android experience as Google focuses on enhancement and visual appeal.
