Google has expanded its Personal Intelligence feature to more users in the U.S., previously restricted to paid subscriptions. This rollout now encompasses free Google accounts, allowing users to access AI capabilities through Search, the Gemini app, and Gemini in Chrome. Personal Intelligence integrates seamlessly with Google’s ecosystem—accessing Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and search history—if users opt in, creating contextual responses tailored to individual preferences. This AI can recommend products, troubleshoot devices, or customize itineraries based on past behaviors, enhancing everyday user experiences.
Despite its convenience, privacy remains a priority, as users can selectively connect or disconnect services. Google assures that data from Gmail and Photos won’t be used to train AI models, only to respond to specific inquiries. By leveraging its widespread ecosystem, Google positions itself ahead of competitors like Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Copilot in the personal AI assistant market.
