Google has launched significant updates to Gmail by integrating its Gemini AI models, enhancing communication for its 3 billion users. The rollout includes an “AI Inbox,” conversation summaries, and advanced drafting tools, currently available to users in the US, as well as AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. The AI Inbox acts as a personalized dashboard, flagging tasks and essential updates, while the system identifies “VIPs” based on contact frequency and message content. A crucial feature, “AI Overviews,” condenses lengthy email threads into key summaries, enabling users to ask specific questions for quick, AI-generated responses. The “Help Me Write” tool is now accessible to all, assisting in email drafting and polishing. Moreover, updated “Suggested Replies” will provide context-aware responses tailored to individual writing styles. While core features are free, the advanced “Proofread” tool remains exclusive to Pro and Ultra subscribers. Further enhancements are planned for next month.
