Google is enhancing AI Mode in Search with new features designed for students, parents, and educators, particularly ahead of the back-to-school season. Robby Stein, Vice President of Google Search, states that AI Mode enables users to tackle complex inquiries and access quality information online. Originally introduced as an experimental feature in March, it now includes robust capabilities such as asking detailed questions about PDFs and images. The Canvas feature helps users organize information over sessions. The updated Search Live supports video input and integrates with Google Lens for real-world item identification. Additionally, desktop users will soon access the Lens feature in Chrome, allowing them to learn about web content easily. The new “Dive deeper” option enables follow-up questions, enhancing user engagement and deepening the search experience. These advancements make Google Search more interactive and informative for academic and personal use.
