Additionally, the Gemini AI platform has expanded smart home controls, allowing users to broadcast commands through speakers and search camera footage via typed queries. Users can also navigate recorded footage with a double-tap feature. Customization improvements include streamlined automations based on presence sensing and Nest Protect monitoring integrated into the Home app. The app now supports third-party Matter-enabled smart locks for enhanced access management. Users can pin more types of favorites, like temperature dashboards and light controls, and manage their devices across multiple platforms, including web access for basic functions. Lastly, the Home Summary widget is now available for testing on Pixel phones, further enhancing usability.
