Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, announced the upcoming launch of a preview version of Gemini 2.5 Pro (I/O version), which enhances coding capabilities for creating interactive web applications. This updated version builds on its May release showcased at the I/O conference, with a stable version expected for enterprise use shortly. The new model has improved its ranking significantly, increasing its Elo score by 24 points on LMArena and 35 points on WebDevArena, securing its lead in both arenas. Tulsee Doshi, Google’s Senior Director of Product Management, noted its strong performance in challenging coding benchmarks like Aider Polyglot and others assessing mathematical and scientific reasoning. Gemini faces competition from AI products developed by companies such as Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Meta Platforms. On the same day, Anthropic, backed by Amazon and Google, released the Claude Gov model for U.S. national security clients, while Meta launched a standalone application based on Llama 4 LLM.
