Google’s Gemini Develops Forward-Thinking Abilities as Apple’s AI Grows More Competitive

admin

At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled new features for Apple Intelligence, enhancing Siri’s contextual understanding. However, Google quietly upgraded its Gemini AI with a notable feature called Scheduled Actions, transforming it into a proactive digital personal assistant. This functionality allows users to assign tasks to Gemini for future completion or regular reminders. Users can simply state tasks, which are then converted into scheduled actions that can be managed under a new “Scheduled Actions” section. This capability extends beyond reminders to any query, allowing for various timing options. Available only to Google AI Pro or Ultra subscribers and select Workspace users, it positions Gemini as a more practical assistant that anticipates user needs. While Apple focuses on improving Siri’s comprehension, Google is taking the lead in developing AI that actively manages tasks, hinting at an evolving landscape where assistants are becoming increasingly proactive.
