Google is enhancing its AI chatbot, Gemini, by rolling out a new feature called Canvas. This free interactive workspace is ideal for students and professionals needing to create presentations. Gemini now has the capability to generate slides simply from a prompt, while users can also upload documents, spreadsheets, or research papers as sources. For instance, users can prompt “Upload any source to create a presentation on [specific topic],” or if a source is crucial, they can upload first and then request the presentation. The generated decks come with built-in themes and images and can be exported directly to Google Slides for further edits or collaborative work. This feature is accessible for both personal and Workspace accounts. Launched in March, Canvas also allows users to share code or writing for editing, providing visual representations of designs for projects like apps and infographics.
