Google’s latest updates to its Workspace tools emphasize the role of AI in automating mundane tasks. Key applications like Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drive now feature Gemini, an AI that utilizes your emails, chats, and files to deliver tailored information. Unlike traditional chatbots, Gemini cites its sources, enhancing transparency and reliability. A standout feature in Sheets allows users to instruct Gemini with simple prompts to fill cell information, significantly reducing manual data entry. Google Slides also benefits, enabling users to create and edit presentations through natural language requests. However, company administrators control AI feature access for Workspace accounts, while individual users can modify settings. These beta features are currently available in English for Google AI Ultra, Pro subscribers, and select Workspace customers.
