Google LLC is advancing its vision for autonomous network operations with new AI agents and a digital twin system for telecommunications providers. Announced at MWC Barcelona, these innovations build on Google’s Autonomous Network Operations framework, enabling “zero-touch” networks that autonomously sense and address issues. The digital twin is a dynamic model of a network’s real-time performance, allowing providers to predict failures and conduct root cause analyses. By releasing the source code for their telco data pipeline on GitHub, Google streamlines the creation of unified ontologies for network digital twins. Their new data steward ensures accurate network reflections, while autonomous agents enhance voice core management and operational support systems. Collaborations with major telcos like Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone further highlight these advancements, as well as partnerships on AI operations projects with MasOrange and Nokia. These transformative tools aim to revolutionize network management by reducing reliance on human intervention.
