Google’s Transition: Gemini Set to Replace Assistant as the Sole Choice

Google is set to phase out Google Assistant in favor of its AI-driven Gemini. Previously, users could toggle between the two, but that option will soon be removed as Google integrates Gemini’s capabilities. A recent report by Android Authority reveals that a new line of code in Gemini’s latest Android version signals this transition. Gemini will adopt features formerly exclusive to Google Assistant, enhancing its functionality further.

Upcoming updates may include a new processing animation, allowing users to view complete texts for long messages. Additionally, Gemini will introduce features like expandable/collapsible query buttons and a “Jump to bottom” option for easier navigation. The redesign aims to create a more engaging user experience, with an Instagram-like scrollable feed for prompts, a welcoming interface, and shortcuts for tools like Create Image and Deep Research. This significant change marks a major evolution in Google’s approach to digital assistance and AI technology.
