Education Above All, a nonprofit based in Qatar, aims to tackle global educational inequities exacerbated by the rise of AI chatbots, especially for youths in developing countries. As AI chatbots proliferate in education, those with limited access risk falling behind. In collaboration with MIT, Harvard, and the UN Development Programme, EAA is launching Digi-Wise, a free AI literacy program for educators in developing regions. This initiative includes Ferby, a generative AI chatbot that provides customized learning resources through the Internet-Free Education Resource Bank. Already benefiting over 5 million children in India, Ferby facilitates project-based learning and pairs offline ingenuity with AI tools to make education accessible and relevant globally. While AI presents challenges, such as bias and accessibility issues, EAA is confident it can help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in providing equitable education. They emphasize AI’s role in enriching, rather than replacing, the human educational experience.
