Prominent figures, including Zelda Williams, daughter of Robin Williams, and actress Chaley Rose, have expressed concerns about unauthorized use of celebrity likenesses. Leading talent agencies, such as United Talent Agency and Creative Artists Agency, are advocating for protections against exploitation of intellectual property without consent or compensation. In response, OpenAI has announced an “opt-in” policy for artists and performers, ensuring they can control how their likenesses are used. The initiative aims to block the generation of well-known characters and comply with copyright laws. The motion picture community continues to urge for legislative action, including the proposed “NO FAKES” Act.
