Research by CBRE shows Dallas leads with 100 relocations, followed by Austin and Nashville. Companies are drawn to Houston for its lower taxes, tax incentives, proximity to markets, and support for hybrid work. Notable companies relocating to Houston include Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, highlighting the region’s appeal, especially for energy firms. In contrast, California experienced significant losses, with many companies relocating to Texas. CBRE suggests businesses are seeking locations that provide long-term viability and adaptability. Texas has now won the 2024 Governor’s Cup for corporate relocations for the 13th consecutive year, reinforcing its attractiveness as a business destination.
