Pinterest has enhanced its tools to help users limit AI-generated content, commonly referred to as “AI Slop,” in their feeds. This update allows users to decrease the visibility of low-quality AI content across categories like beauty, art, fashion, and home decor. The initiative comes in response to user feedback, particularly from discussions on Pinterest’s Reddit page, where users expressed frustration over the influx of AI-generated images. To combat this issue, Pinterest has implemented a toggling feature in users’ Settings, enabling a more personalized feed. Additionally, the platform is introducing labels for AI-generated images, marking them as “generated or modified with AI” to improve transparency. As Pinterest continues to evolve, it is committed to refining its detection tools and introducing further GenAI features to enhance user experience and maintain quality content. This move reflects Pinterest’s dedication to prioritizing user preferences and reducing unwanted AI-generated visuals.
