Google’s Gemini AI chatbot is enhancing its personalization features, allowing it to remember user preferences and past interactions for more tailored conversations. Announced recently, Gemini can now autonomously learn from user inputs, improving its responses. Users concerned about privacy have the option to disable this feature or delete specific conversations. This rollout starts with the 2.5 Pro model and will extend to 2.5 Flash soon. Gemini also introduces a “Temporary Chat” mode for discussions that shouldn’t be saved, functioning similarly to incognito browsing. Additionally, settings for sharing conversation samples with Google will be updated for better user control. As AI chatbots, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and xAI’s Grok, adopt memory functionalities, they raise privacy concerns regarding personal data management. Users are encouraged to adjust settings under “Personal Context” for optimal control. For maximizing AI interactions, explore our guide on AI Essentials to learn effective generative AI strategies.
