Huawei: Revolutionizing Mobile Networks for the Rise of AI Agents

Huawei is poised to transform mobile network dynamics with the rise of AI agent applications, predicting a dramatic increase in uplink traffic compared to traditional mobile services. The number of AI agent connections is expected to reach 100 billion, creating unprecedented demands on mobile networks, cloud infrastructure, and edge computing systems.

To meet these challenges, Huawei is unveiling new metrics and protocols, including the AI MOS for assessing AI service quality and the A2A-T protocol for efficient agent-to-agent communication. Zhao Dong, Huawei’s VP and CMO, discussed the onset of the “agent era,” highlighting AI agents’ integration into mobile phones, cars, and robots.

This shift signifies a change in traffic patterns, with increased uplink requirements. Ultimately, Huawei’s strategies aim to redefine network capacity and communication protocols, fostering collaboration across the tech ecosystem. These developments represent a critical evolution in telecommunications, preparing networks for a robust AI-driven future.
