Huawei Technologies has unveiled HarmonyOS 6, its advanced operating system featuring cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities. The launch introduced over 80 applications equipped with AI agents, marking a significant milestone for the company, according to Richard Yu, its executive director. HarmonyOS 6 enhances user experience and narrows the application ecology, with plans for a large-scale public beta across over 90 device models. The new agent development framework enables developers to create AI agents with intelligent interaction and autonomous decision-making without complex algorithms. Notable applications include a shopping assistant from JD.Com, enhancing consumer experiences with personalized recommendations and promotions. Additionally, HarmonyOS 6 offers cross-system interconnectivity, facilitating data transfer without internet reliance and supporting NFC with Apple devices. Building on HarmonyOS 5, which has reached over 23 million installations, Huawei pledges over CNY1 billion to foster an AI ecosystem within the platform, aiming to incubate thousands of AI services and agents in the near future.
