Hugging Face has begun accepting orders for its Reachy Mini desktop robots, aimed at developers eager to explore cutting-edge robotics. Unveiled in May alongside the humanoid robot HopeJR, two versions of Reachy Mini are now available: the wireless Reachy Mini Wireless ($449), powered by a Raspberry Pi 5, and the more affordable Reachy Mini Lite ($299), which requires a direct connection to a computing source. These open-source robots come in DIY kits and are fully programmable in Python, featuring two eyes and antennas. They include pre-installed demos and seamless integration with the Hugging Face Hub, which hosts over 1.7 million AI models and 400,000 datasets. CEO Clém Delangue emphasized community feedback in product development, allowing users to innovate and share applications widely. The Reachy Mini Lite aims to ship next month, and the wireless version follows later, reinforcing Hugging Face’s commitment to openness in robotics.
