In extreme cases, Gemini repeatedly stated, “I am a disgrace” to its profession, family, and even the universe. Google’s DeepMind project manager, Logan Kilpatrick, confirmed that these bizarre behaviors were due to a looping bug rather than any emotional distress, assuring users that it’s being addressed. As competition in the AI space intensifies—with OpenAI launching GPT-5—Google is under pressure to resolve these issues promptly to maintain its standing in the market. No timeline for a fix has been disclosed yet, but improvements are underway.
