I Tried Out Gemini’s New Image Generator: Here Are My Findings!

In November, I tested Google’s Gemini powered by Imagen 3, which had several limitations. The recent rollout of Imagen 4 shows noticeable improvements, particularly in image quality and the ability to change aspect ratios, addressing some of my previous frustrations. The new model consistently produces sharper, more professional images, especially of people, whereas Imagen 3 often generated cartoonish results. However, while Imagen 4 is more reliable and versatile, it still struggles with achieving a realistic look, especially in close-ups due to excessive saturation and artificial effects. Editing is somewhat improved but still lacks the precision needed for minor changes. Overall, while Imagen 4 is a strong AI image generator, it still faces challenges in realism and editing capabilities common across similar platforms. Its limitations, like generating images of famous people, remain in place, yet it stands out as one of the best tools available despite its shortcomings.
