Ike Barinholtz is set to portray Elon Musk in Amazon’s upcoming film, Artificial, which focuses on OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrew Garfield will play Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, while Yura Borisov takes on the role of co-founder Ilya Sutskever. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, known for Challengers and After the Hunt, Artificial is scheduled for release on October 10. The film will delve into the dramatic events surrounding Altman’s firing and subsequent rehiring in 2023. Musk, an OpenAI co-founder, has been involved in a public feud over the company’s management while developing his own AI, Grok, within X/Twitter. Described by Variety as a “comedic drama set in the world of artificial intelligence,” Artificial promises to provide a satirical take on the intersecting lives of tech moguls and the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
