In a significant announcement, Indian government leader Abhishek Singh revealed plans to launch a voice-enabled LLM (Large Language Model) before the Delhi AI Summit 2026, scheduled for February 19–20 at Bharat Mandapam. This summit will attract global leaders, tech CEOs, researchers, and policy experts from over 100 countries. Singh emphasized that the LLM aims to facilitate speech-based natural language interactions, enhancing digital service accessibility, especially in remote areas. Sumir Chadha from WestBridge Capital noted that India now boasts the second-largest number of AI users globally, trailing only the US, indicating a growing familiarity with AI among Indian consumers. The LLM will serve crucial sectors such as health, education, farming, and public services, effectively removing language barriers in technology. This initiative underlines India’s commitment to becoming a leader in AI technology, setting the stage for impactful advancements in various fields.
