This move targets the rampant misuse of AI, including misinformation and inappropriate imagery. However, concerns arise over potential censorship and erosion of digital freedoms, as rights groups warn that the measures could lead to automated censorship and rapid content removal without adequate user review. The Internet Freedom Foundation highlights that the compressed timeframe limits meaningful oversight and shifts control from users to platforms. Additionally, a recent report warns that such regulations may encourage excessive monitoring of content, further risking freedom of expression.
