Uday Ruddarraju has resigned as head of infrastructure engineering at Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, after over a year. He significantly contributed to the development of Colossus, a powerful supercomputer featuring more than 200,000 GPUs, and played a crucial role in training Grok 3, one of xAI’s advanced AI models. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Ruddarraju expressed gratitude for his experience at xAI, acknowledging Musk and the team for the opportunity to be part of such an ambitious project. He shared his pride in exceeding expectations during GPU deployment and highlighted the success of Grok 3 as career milestones. Following his departure, Ruddarraju confirmed he would be joining OpenAI, a move welcomed by OpenAI President Greg Brockman. His transition marks a notable shift in the AI landscape, as skilled professionals move between major companies shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
