Instagram is enhancing user control over content suggestions with its new ‘Your Algorithm’ tool, designed to replace the previously available option to completely reset content preferences. This feature allows users to fine-tune what they see on their Explore page, starting with Reels. Users can access this tool via a filter icon while watching short-form videos, allowing them to view and personalize topic recommendations tailored to their interests. Upon tapping the icon, users will find categorized content chips for videos they wish to see more or less of, influenced by AI summaries of their recent activity. Currently available only in the U.S., the tool will soon roll out globally and expand beyond Reels to the Explore page and other app areas. This update aims to enhance the user experience on Instagram by providing personalized recommendations that evolve alongside user interests.
