Google has launched a new discovery tool called Disco, currently in limited testing. Designed to enhance web browsing, Disco features Gemini 3-powered GenTabs that transform open tabs into customizable applications for efficient task management, like research and trip planning. The interactive interface allows users to build apps using natural language prompts, a process similar to vibe coding, where developers use text to guide the generation of applications. GenTabs can understand complex tasks from your tabs and chat history, offering personalized tool generation. Early testers have created applications ranging from meal planners to educational aids. Google emphasizes that each generated element links back to original web sources, ensuring reliability. While Disco is still in the testing phase, interested users can join a waitlist at Google Labs, with current availability for macOS users. This innovative tool aims to redefine the browsing experience by integrating advanced generative technology.
