Menstrual health startup Joii has launched a revolutionary period tracking app in the UK that utilizes AI to measure period blood volume, aiming to diagnose conditions like endometriosis. According to the NHS, one in three menstruators experiences heavy bleeding, often linked to painful conditions such as fibroids and adenomyosis. Diagnosing endometriosis can take years, with many cases remaining undiagnosed. Founded by Justyna Strzeszynska after her own health struggles, the Joii Period Evaluation app combines tracking features with innovative technology. Users must purchase Joii Evaluation Pads and scan them with the app to check blood volume and clots. Additionally, they can log symptoms like pelvic pain and fatigue. A recent study revealed that 88% of participants felt the app improved communication about period volume with their doctors, enhancing their health literacy. Joii aims to empower menstruators by turning pain into actionable data, promoting better health awareness and care.
