AIB is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) across its business tools to enhance productivity for its 10,000 employees. Utilizing Microsoft applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel, AIB’s AI Centre of Excellence is set to develop custom tools that streamline data insights and improve decision-making. By minimizing time spent on repetitive tasks, employees can concentrate on high-value work, thereby elevating customer experiences. Chief Technology Officer Graham Fagan emphasized that the implementation of Microsoft Copilot tools will simplify workflows and make processes more efficient. Research indicates that AI’s influence in finance is significant, with three-quarters of UK firms already employing it for internal optimization and customer support. Moreover, studies predict that AI could affect roles across sectors, with Goldman Sachs noting 300 million jobs at risk. AIB is also collaborating with Ireland’s Financial Services Union as it navigates these changes. Overall, AI adoption in Ireland has surged, potentially contributing €250bn to the economy by 2035.
