Over the past two decades, Vivekananthan Rajasekaran, JAMM Visual’s new compositing lead and supervisor, has excelled in photorealistic VFX. Starting as a roto artist in Chennai, he honed his skills at MPC and The Mill, eventually relocating to Los Angeles. At JAMM, known for its artist-led, collaborative culture, Vivek combines his technical mastery of Nuke and Nuke Studio with a passion for storytelling. He highlights ongoing challenges in the VFX industry, such as shorter turnaround times and the integration of AI tools, which require a balance between efficiency and creativity. Excited by advancements in Foundry Nuke, particularly in machine learning, Vivek emphasizes clear communication and team collaboration as keys to effective leadership. Recently, he worked on a sci-fi horror teaser, balancing atmospheric effects with realism. Looking ahead to 2025, Vivek aims to enhance his skills and mentor emerging talent, fostering a supportive environment while pushing creative boundaries.
