Japan’s Largest Annual Tech Expo Kicks Off: Exploring the Expansion of AI Applications

The Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) 2025, held at Makuhari Messe, highlights the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in Japan’s tech landscape, featuring 810 exhibitors, with nearly half showcasing AI innovations. Major corporations, startups, and academic institutions discussed AI’s applications in healthcare, beauty, entertainment, and robotics. Notably, the event saw a record 232 startups and university exhibitors, reflecting a 20% increase from the previous year, as noted by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). Key highlights include Fujitsu’s interactive AI golf simulator, NEC’s advanced facial recognition cameras, and innovative products analyzing RNA for personalized health assessments. With 156 international exhibitors, including first-time participant Uzbekistan and Ukraine’s continued presence, CEATEC runs until Friday, aiming to attract over 100,000 visitors.
