Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that a $100 billion investment in OpenAI is unlikely, especially with the AI startup preparing for an IPO later this year. Speaking at a Morgan Stanley conference, Huang confirmed Nvidia’s commitment to invest $30 billion in OpenAI, emphasizing that this may be a rare opportunity to back such a significant company. Previously, Nvidia hinted at a possible $100 billion partnership to develop AI infrastructure, which would include building substantial AI data centers. However, Huang asserts that Nvidia’s focus will be on providing the necessary computing power for OpenAI’s AI model training. Additionally, he noted that their $10 billion investment in Anthropic might also be one of their last, as that company gears up for a public offering. Despite some internal concerns from Nvidia executives regarding the OpenAI deal, Huang maintains strong support for OpenAI and highlights the immense value it holds within the tech sector.
