Karnataka is set to implement a new MSME policy focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools, enhancing the competitiveness of small businesses. This strategic initiative recognizes that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) constitute 97% of the state’s industrial units, highlighting their critical role in the economy. The policy aims to empower these businesses by equipping them with advanced technological solutions, enabling smarter operations and improved efficiency. Rohini Sindhuri, secretary of the Department of MSME, Sugar, and Textiles, announced this transformative plan. By integrating AI into the MSME framework, Karnataka seeks to foster innovation, streamline processes, and ensure long-term sustainability. This approach positions the state’s MSMEs for growth and resilience in an increasingly digital marketplace. Emphasizing the significance of technology in boosting productivity, the new policy could revolutionize how small enterprises operate, promoting economic development across Karnataka.
