Kroger and Papa John’s Explore Gemini AI Solutions for Retail Innovation

Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, an innovative platform aimed at enhancing customer engagement for retailers. Announced at the National Retail Federation conference, the platform helps businesses like Kroger and Papa Johns integrate AI agents into their existing digital infrastructure. These agents can perform tasks beyond simple inquiries, such as building shopping carts, placing orders, and addressing service issues, all while maintaining brand control.

Kroger plans to utilize Gemini to develop shopping and meal-planning assistants that operate within its digital ecosystem, allowing customers to generate shopping lists and manage orders easily. Similarly, Papa Johns is the first restaurant to implement this omnichannel AI for food ordering across various platforms, including mobile and kiosk interfaces. Google Cloud emphasizes that Gemini maintains context across multiple channels, facilitating a seamless user experience while adhering to enterprise-defined rules. This strategic move positions Google Cloud as a leader in generative AI solutions for the retail sector.
