Hyderabad’s BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has urged OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to consider the city for its India operations. In a post on X, KTR highlighted Hyderabad as the ideal gateway to India, showcasing its vibrant innovation ecosystem, which includes THub, WEHub, and TWorks. He noted that major tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon already thrive in the city, benefiting from its deep talent pool. KTR emphasized Telangana’s commitment to becoming the AI capital of India, recalling the declaration of 2020 as the “Year of AI” and highlighting various AI initiatives. He asserted that Hyderabad combines innovation, talent, and global connectivity, essential for leading the AI revolution. Altman recently announced ChatGPT’s first office in Delhi, praising the rapid growth of AI adoption in India, where ChatGPT users have quadrupled over the past year.
