LinkedIn CEO: AI Writing Assistants Fall Short of Popularity Expectations

admin

LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky noted that while users are generally open to AI, the feature for AI-generated suggestions on post refinement hasn’t gained the expected traction. He believes this is due to the high stakes of LinkedIn as an online resume; users fear negative repercussions from appearing overly reliant on AI. Unlike backlash on platforms like X or TikTok, criticism on LinkedIn can significantly impact one’s professional opportunities. Despite this, Roslansky highlighted a dramatic rise in job postings requiring AI skills—up six-fold in the past year—along with users adding AI-related skills to their profiles, which has increased 20 times. Personally, he utilizes AI in his communications, specifically mentioning how he employs the Copilot tool to enhance his emails to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, aiming for a polished presentation.
