Lockheed Martin has partnered with Google Public Sector to integrate generative AI applications into its internal systems, enhancing its AI capabilities. This collaboration will incorporate Google Gemini, a suite of large multimodal AI models, into Lockheed Martin’s AI Factory, which supports personnel in developing innovative AI solutions across various workflows. The initiative, according to Greg Forrest, VP at Lockheed Martin, aims to provide engineers with secure, cutting-edge AI tools, driving innovation to support mission-critical projects. The partnership will roll out in phases, starting with unclassified, on-premises environments, allowing employees to leverage AI for accelerated data analysis, research, and supply chain optimization. Jim Kelly, VP at Google Public Sector, emphasized the commitment to delivering advanced generative AI technologies while ensuring stringent security and data governance standards. This collaboration aligns with the defense industry’s growing trend to adopt disruptive technologies for operational efficiency and data security.
