Marine Corps Establishes GenAI.mil as Its Official Enterprise AI Platform

The U.S. Marine Corps has officially designated GenAI.mil as its generative artificial intelligence platform, establishing governance for its use among Marines, civilians, and contractors. Set to discuss AI adoption in federal agencies, the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Artificial Intelligence Summit on March 18 will focus on modernization and cybersecurity. An updated administrative message aligns the Marine Corps’ AI policies with Department of War and Navy guidelines. GenAI.mil is authorized for use on government devices for certain tasks, while strict protocols exclude personally identifiable or classified information. The platform features a conversational interface, document uploads, and advanced research capabilities. Users must validate AI output for accuracy, as the deputy commandant for information oversees generative AI governance. Additionally, the Air Force’s chatbot NIPRGPT is being phased out. Future enhancements for GenAI.mil will include integration with Marine data sources and advanced AI tools. Register for more insights at the upcoming summits to stay updated on technological advancements.
