Meta has introduced a new pop-up warning for users sharing content on its AI app, following reports of accidental oversharing in the “Discover” feed. This change addresses concerns about personal information, such as sensitive family discussions and private conversations, being posted publicly. The warning alerts users that their prompts will be visible to all and advises against sharing personal details. After this prompt, users must tap the screen again to proceed with posting, which aims to reduce unintentional shares. Reports from outlets like Business Insider highlighted numerous instances of users inadvertently posting intimate questions and private messages. While some users might intentionally post unique content, the overall focus of the Discover feed has shifted to predominantly image-based content, decreasing the visibility of text and audio posts. Meta has yet to comment on whether recent changes were intentional or simply a result of the new sharing protocol.
