Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is intensifying his company’s AI hiring efforts following a $14.3 billion investment in Scale AI, which brought in founder Alexandr Wang. Recent reports indicate that Zuckerberg is also targeting Daniel Gross, CEO of Safe Superintelligence, and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman. This move follows unsuccessful acquisition attempts of Safe Superintelligence earlier this year, which was valued at $32 billion. Gross and Friedman, who co-manage a venture capital firm called NFDG, will join Meta and work under Wang while the company gains a stake in NFDG. This escalates the competitive talent war among major tech firms like Meta, Google, and OpenAI as they race to develop advanced AI technologies. Notably, OpenAI’s Sam Altman mentioned that Meta is trying to attract talent with lucrative offers but has not succeeded with their top employees. Gross and Friedman’s backgrounds include significant accomplishments in AI and tech development.
