His impressive academic background includes a Ph.D. in computer science from Princeton University, alongside degrees from the University of Southern California and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Following Pang’s departure, Apple’s foundation models team will be led by another notable Chinese engineer, Chen Zhifeng.
