Microsoft is enhancing security for AI agents with new features in Defender, Entra, and Purview, announced ahead of the RSAC Conference. As AI systems gain autonomy in organizations, Microsoft introduces a dedicated security layer for these agents. Key innovations include Agent 365, a central control plane, launching May 1, providing a comprehensive overview of AI agents. Additionally, a new Security Dashboard offers CISOs insights into AI-related risks, while Entra Internet Access Shadow AI Detection helps track unmanaged AI usage. Enhancements in identity protection include new Entra features and expanded Passkey support via Windows Hello. For data security, Microsoft Purview now enables blocking of sensitive information in AI prompts, addressing rapid data movement in AI workflows. Security Copilot and Microsoft Sentinel are integrated into Microsoft 365 E5 and E7 for automated security tasks, with new agents targeting security alerts, positioning Microsoft as a leader in AI security solutions.
