Microsoft has launched OpenAI Sora through its Bing Video Creator, now available for free on the Bing mobile app for both iOS and Android. This feature allows users to turn text prompts into short videos by generating images. Although it is currently mobile-exclusive, the tool follows Microsoft’s previous AI offerings, including Bing Image Creator and Copilot. Users can create 5-second videos in a 9:16 format, with a 16:9 format to be introduced later. Up to three video generations can be queued, and notifications will alert users when their videos are ready for download or sharing on social media. Videos are stored for 90 days, and each user can generate ten “Fast” videos for quick production. After this, standard video creation options are available at no cost, or users can redeem Microsoft Rewards points for additional fast generations. The desktop version is not yet available.
