Midea Group’s Jingzhou factory, located in central Hubei, has achieved a milestone by securing the world’s first AI agent factory certification from World Record Certification. This cutting-edge washing machine plant employs 14 AI agents across 38 key areas, including energy and quality control, optimizing operations and significantly enhancing efficiency by over 80%. The factory’s innovative “brain” orchestrates AI agents, facilitating tasks like material inspections through AI-powered headsets that reduce inspection times dramatically. With a total investment of CNY 5 billion (approximately USD 700 million), Midea aims to scale its AI solutions globally to strengthen China’s manufacturing sector. Moreover, the factory integrates humanoid robots for quality inspections and safety, highlighting Midea’s commitment to pioneering smart factory technology. Future advancements, such as super-humanoid robots, are in development, indicating Midea’s ambition to maintain leadership in AI and automation within the manufacturing industry.
