While human involvement remains critical—especially in decision-making related to engineering and regulations—33% of MRO providers anticipate semi-autonomous workflows by the decade’s end. Both digital twins and digital threads offer comprehensive models and data flows, crucial for monitoring aircraft lifecycles. Many aerospace companies are embracing these advanced technologies, as a shift towards automated operations is expected to unfold over the next five to seven years, positioning leaders like Boeing and Airbus at the forefront of this digital transformation.
