Mozilla Raises Concerns Over Google’s AI Integration in Chrome

Mozilla has raised concerns about Google’s integration of its Gemini AI model into the Chrome browser, fearing it will hinder competition for rivals like Firefox. Mozilla opposes Google’s plans to introduce AI-based APIs that web developers can use to create applications relying on Gemini, arguing that this could lead to a developer preference for Chrome due to its unique capabilities. Brian Grinstead from Mozilla emphasized that using a single AI model across different browsers could negatively impact user experiences outside of Chrome. Google, however, has defended its approach, stating they aren’t favoring Chrome.
