MTN Enhances Microsoft Partnership, Introducing AI Tools for Consumers

MTN Group, Africa’s largest mobile operator, is enhancing its partnership with Microsoft by launching Microsoft 365 with Copilot for consumers in early 2026. This initiative aims to provide broader access to AI-driven productivity tools across the continent as MTN celebrates surpassing 300 million customers. While specific markets for the rollout remain undisclosed, MTN emphasizes its commitment to “responsible AI” governance. This collaboration seeks to bridge skills gaps and empower digital participation in Africa, according to MTN CEO Ralph Mupita. The service will feature Microsoft’s security enhancements, including phishing protection. Additionally, MTN has migrated its Enterprise Value Analytics (EVA) platform to Microsoft Azure, enhancing data processing capabilities and security. This cloud implementation, known as EVA 3.0, processes 22 billion records daily, marking it as the largest telco cloud initiative in the region. Overall, MTN aims to drive innovation and growth through this strategic integration of Microsoft technology.
